Ravens Roost #115 – Meeting Minutes – February 2, 2011

Scott Albright, Sergeant At Arms started us off with the Pledge of Alliance followed by a “Go Ravens”.

Unfortunately, we have found it necessary to cancel our Super Bowl party that was scheduled for 2/6 at Rafaels.  We were unable to sell enough tickets to make it viable.  Anyone who purchased tickets will get a full refund.  We understand that folks have other plans and commitments for that day and that a Sunday evening event is difficult.  We will keep this in mind when planning future events.  Thanks to all who purchased tickets.

Currently we have about 20-25 tickets sold for the bull and oyster roast which will be held on February 26th at the Patapsco Arena (3301 Annapolis Road, Baltimore, MD).  The plan is to get a bus to leave from Rafaels.  Beer for the bus will be donated.  Chris is checking into the bus and will let us know what he finds out, but it will be an additional cost per person.  Tickets are available for the Wagon Wheel raffle which includes a huge selection of food, spirits and other great items.   Tickets for the bull roast are still available.  If you are interested in attending, please email Chris by February 18th.

Save the Date for the first annual Ravens Roost #115 Golf Outing to be held on Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Links of Gettysburg.  It will be a 2:00 p.m. start.  A committee is being formed to finalize the details.  It will be a great time so start planning your foursomes.

Tina reported that we have $3,072.33 as an account balance.  We will be looking to make a donation to our two charities in the near future.

W
e also discussed having 2 crab feasts one in the summer and one in the fall.  We are thinking that the first one will be held around the end of training camp with the hope that we can get some Ravens players to attend.  The second one will be held in the fall, perhaps in October.  More details to follow.

The shirt committee is continuing to work to finalize our charter member shirt. Samples were shown and  the committee is working to narrow down the exact logo layout.

A brief discussion was held on the possibility of offering businesses the opportunity to advertise on our Ravens Roost website.  Dawn has pulled some website statistics and a decision will be made shortly.

Chris discussed the need for the Roost to stay active during non-football months.  Before we know it the Ravens will be back on the field.

Congratulations to Scott Albright who won $50 in the 50/50 raffle.

Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 23rd at 6:30.  We are looking at having another short meeting with a social event similar to the holiday party.  More details to follow so stay tuned.
