Meeting Minutes

The June meeting of Ravens Roost 115 was held on Wednesday  June 26, 2013, at  Maggies . The meeting was called to order at approximately 6:00 pm by President Scott Albright.  George led the Roost in the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a “Go Ravens”.   A roll call of Officers and Board Members was conducted. Present were Officers:  President-Scott Albright, Treasurer-Kim Harris, Corresponding Secretary -Tammy Brooks, Sergeant at Arms- George Colburn.  Board of Directors present were:  Dawn Geigan, Lori Blake.  and Steve Timchula.

Missing: Bobbi Koppenhaver. Recording Secretary- Judi  Carter,  VP-Steve Rutzebeck, Mike McGinnis.

 

President’s Report:

Well, Convention is over, another Great Success.  Perception  was that the most ever to be on hand to watch the parade. Plenty of pictures of the weekend's activities are on the Council website . We are already starting to think of ideas for next year's float.

Council Gala celebrating 50 years is coming up in October, details to follow.

New Roost from Jacksonville MD #131. Welcome.

We need to submit Charity forms to Dave Shultz for Council review at July meeting.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

Kim still working on totals from the Golf Outing,  Will have complete analysis for July meeting

 

Membership:  

 

Bobbi was not present will update in July. There was a mention of name tags  so current members will have a better means of interaction with newer members   Will review at July  meeting.

Entertainment/Events –

O’s Game July 13:  What a Great day, weather was nice and Hot, most everyone did receive the  Adam Jones replica jersey. Although we did not get a win we did see Chris Davis hit another one out of the  Park. Mike will be planning a fall trip details to follow.

Crab Feast, August 10:  At the VFW, 6:00pm-10:00pm.  We will need 2-3 people for a committee.  Last’s year’s was sold out.  This is also one of our biggest fundraisers.    We are raffling off a Super Bowl Football signed by Ray Lewis.  Tammy has the raffle tickets for the Ray Lewis football.  Price of the tickets is $10 each or 3 for $20.  You can also pay online.   Dennis Colson is the chair email address dlctx@comcast.net.   Tickets are on sale.  Remind everyone to fill in their stubs.  This year a hostess will seat you.   We will also have crab knives this year.  We need volunteers for the 50/50, the jar tickets, and raffle.  We are hoping for people to donate 1 hour of their evening to help out. Dennis will be working on a Volunteers list please sign up as you are able.

Pig Roast 9/14 – This is a member’s only pig roast more info to come. .

Roost 50 Golf Tournament 9/14 – this is the same day as our pig roast, we are planning to sponsor a hole. Cork Blake has offered to get a foursome together, let us know if anyone else will sponsor a group. Thanks Cork

Pottery Loft Fundraiser – A date is not set yet.  We would be able to hand out flyers to friends and family then 20% of all sales will go to us.  There are many items to choose from plates, bowls, mugs, coffee cups that you can paint how you would like.   To go along with this, at a different time we could do the Believe Mugs charity.  For $10 you paint a mug however you like the word Believe on it.  The mugs go to cancer patients.  

Team Purple – October 27:  9:00am at the old Memorial Stadium area.  As you may know Dawn participated in Team Purple last year, for the American Breast Cancer Foundation.  To boost the numbers Dawn and Katie Bollinger will be going to the Council in August  to  inform all Roosts

 

Next Meeting:

Our next meeting will be held on July 24, 2013, 6:00 p.m., at  Paradisos located at  20 Distillery Dr, in Westminster.
